Identifying music

Monday April 23, 2007

Normally if I’m mystified by a track, I’ll just type the lyrics into Google, and BOOM! Everything I could want to know shuffles over the screen.

This is fine in principle, but it does limit the vast spans of possibly identifiable music down to a fraction of the available sounds out there – because if there’s no words on the record, things get a bit sticky.

Came across a little gem called Tunatic that does the job quite well for bits and bobs of my library. But I was only testing – I already knew the ones I pumped through.

So anyway, I have this noise that I’m trying to identify. If you know what it is, drop me a mail, post a comment, or whatever. This is a bit of a long shot, but I’ve passed it round a bit, and so far no-one seems to be clued on name/artist.

The same file, in MP3
